Abaai Resort in Julianadorp, Curaçao

Abaai Resort consists of a beautiful tropical villa with two apartments in the garden. The large house was built in the 1940s-1950s as a director’s residence for Shell. The stunning garden spans over 2500 square meters and is filled with mature palm trees, aloe vera, cacti, and other tropical plants and flowers. You’ll find many beautiful birds such as parrots, sugar birds, orioles, and hummingbirds, as well as the iconic iguanas, lizards, and geckos that are typical of Curaçao. Almost every evening, flamingos fly over.

We, as a family, live on the resort, are proud of our place, and try to make it even more beautiful every day.

Abaai has 4 accommodations divided into two apartments with their own porch and the bed and breakfast attached to the house. There is a spacious single room for 2 people and a double room with two 2-person rooms. The apartments are separate in the garden and have their own porch and kitchen. The two accommodations of the B&B share a large porch with kitchen, dining tables, and lounge area.
All accommodations have their own bathroom and toilet.

In the garden, there is a large swimming pool with an outdoor shower and plenty of space to sunbathe or relax in the shade. There are several terraces scattered throughout the garden, and there is the large porch between the palm trees with lounge sofas and tables underneath. In the evening, the porch is nicely lit, and it’s a lovely place to eat, read a book, play a game, or have a drink. This porch has a fully equipped outdoor kitchen where you can cook delicious meals. There is also a BBQ. We regularly cook and eat with our guests or have a drink. The garden is fully fenced, and you can park your car on a spacious parking lot on the property via an electric gate.

All accommodations are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, 110 and 220V connections, and a refrigerator. There is a fast fiber optic connection with Wi-Fi in all rooms, on the porch, and almost everywhere in the garden.

Location

The neighborhood of Julianadorp is very conveniently located. The large supermarket ‘Centrum’ is only a 3-minute drive away and the airport is also very close. The resort is a five-minute drive from popular spots like Blue Bay and Kokomo, two beautiful bays with nice beaches and great dining options. Piscadera Bay is within 10 minutes’ reach. A nice contrast to this is the fishing village of Boka Sami (Sint Michiel), also a 5-minute drive away and with a much more local character.

There are good restaurants and shops nearby and you are close to the most beautiful beaches on the island such as Cas Abao (even one of the most beautiful beaches in the world), Porto Mari, Grote Knip (probably the most photographed beach on the island), and many other beautiful beaches on the west side. On the other hand, you can park for free within a 10-minute drive and walk over the famous Pontjesbrug to the heart of Willemstad. From the resort, it takes about 20 minutes to drive to Mambo Beach and 30 minutes to Jan Thiel, the tourist hotspots of the island. You will cross the huge Queen Juliana Bridge with a stunning view over the city.

The resort is located in a region of the island that is not yet overrun by tourists but meets all requirements for the ultimate Caribbean vacation! Due to its central location, Abaai is the perfect base to explore the entire island.
